East Lothian Online is a clean, open space built for the community. No adverts, no clutter, just one place where people can see what’s happening across the county. From small businesses and schools to markets, clubs, and local stories, it’s designed to reflect real life in East Lothian and make it accessible to everyone.
Our Mission.
Too much local information disappears quickly — lost in social media feeds, hidden behind adverts, or scattered across different sites. Our mission is to change that. East Lothian Online exists to keep the life of our towns and villages permanent, organised, and free to access. It’s a living noticeboard for the county, built to connect people, celebrate local activity, and strengthen community ties.
How it works.
Anyone can contribute. Submissions are sent by email, checked only for clarity and fairness, then published as part of the permanent archive. Businesses, schools, clubs, and groups can also have a free page with their own post feed, with every post appearing on the main feed too. Nothing is hidden, nothing is deleted without cause, and everything remains free to access. Over time, this builds a community-driven record of East Lothian that cannot be lost, forgotten, or paywalled.
